W trakcie pracy nad podcastem zestawiłem podstawową literaturę polską i zagraniczną (wykazy te będą stale uzupełniane).

The famous German photographer and photography theorist Andreas Feininger is supposed to have said that talent is more important than technique. Anyone who has an interest in photography even a little bit will certainly admit he is right. But is this definitely the case?

One camera in particular has made its mark in the history of photography. It is still produced today, although it has gone through many changes in the last century. It is a phenomenon without question. When you connect the lenses of the 1920s-30s to a modern digital body, you can successfully take pictures with it.

There is probably no other such camera in the world that has not only blazed new ways, but also has found passionate enthusiasts and imitators for decades. Although its beginnings indicated nothing about its rapid development, the Leica, as it is referred to, in a short time became the companion of many photographic expeditions.

I have decided to devote a podcast series to the great history of the little camera. I want to present the history of its creation and main creators, and introduce selected profiles of photographers. This will be supplemented by interviews with wonderful people, Poles who have been collecting this camera in its many varieties and / or repairing them for years.

While working on the podcast, I compiled basic lists of Polish and foreign literature which will be constantly supplemented. In addition, I created a notes section and a family tree. I often move onto a virgin subject, not developed by anyone. In the notes section I want to share the results of my research and encourage discussion. I will post texts in this section as regularly as possible. Often there is a lack of basic information about a particular Leica model in Polish. The family tree is the answer to this desideratum.

To stay up to date, I encourage you to subscribe to the newsletter.

The premiere of the new podcast is on Sunday, August 21, at 8 p.m. I will announce the episode beforehand, and pay attention to the description. The recording will be available on all major audio and video portals (You Tube).

The author of the cover design is graphic designer, illustrator and painter, Wieslaw Smętek.
